Samantha Daugherty brings a scientific lens and strategic mindset to her role as Assistant Director of Business Development. With a background spanning research, grant administration, and operations, she excels at building systems and strategies that streamline communications, support stakeholder engagement, and drive organizational growth.

Before joining Art & Science, Samantha served as a Grants Administrator at the Lieber Institute, where she led efforts to improve internal workflows, implement tracking tools, and strengthen communications for large-scale NIH and foundation grants. She worked closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to align operational processes with institutional priorities. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Research Scientist in the biopesticide space, where she conducted microbiological research, contributed to product development, and collaborated across teams to support regulatory strategy.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Bioinformatics—with a concentration in Molecular Biology—from Towson University. Samantha’s scientific training continues to shape her marketing and strategy work, allowing her to distill technical information and bring analytical rigor to creative planning.

Beyond the Work

Outside of work, Samantha finds balance (literally) in barre and Pilates classes and loves getting creative in the kitchen—whether she’s testing new dinner recipes or perfecting a baked treat. She has a deep love for travel, new experiences, and is constantly inspired by the world around her. At home, life is delightfully chaotic thanks to four curious cats and one spirited dog who keep things interesting.
