More About J. Craig
Craig Goebel joined Art & Science Group in 1996 and played a pivotal role in the expansion of the firm’s research capabilities, building and managing fielding capabilities and expanding the quality and depth of analysis. Having previously served as research associate in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the Wisconsin Regional Primate Research Center, Craig’s knowledge of research methods, his attention to detail, and his disciplined approaches to research have been a valuable asset for the firm’s clients. It has occurred to Craig that his interaction with primates was excellent preparation for work at Art & Science Group.
Soon after joining the firm, Craig built a reputation as the “go-to” guy. He handled enormous amounts of work, became a stickler for detail and precision, and helped build our then-new research department. After observing a client’s comatose stares after a three-hour 250-slide research presentation, he also became the firm’s antidote for PowerPoint poisoning. Craig’s personal crusade has resulted in making our highly complex and sophisticated research methods much more understandable and accessible to clients.
Craig’s expertise and experience in tuition pricing is exceptional. He managed all of the firm’s early research in pricing and has continued to advance the value of pricing studies as roadmap for critical pricing, positioning, and financial aid decisions. He also has been a key contributor to our work with clients on branding, financial aid, integrated marketing, and operational projects. He also has led many of the tuition pricing workshops our firm has conducted around the country.
Craig is now charged with responsibility for further enhancement of the firm’s work in the tuition pricing as well as our new collaboration with iStrategy Solutions, which will involve development of management analytical tools in enrollment management, alumni relations, annual giving, retention, and student services.
In the very few moments when Craig is not working, he gets away for backpacking, canoeing, and hiking in places as near as the Appalachians and as far as Australia and New Zealand.
